The Coalition of the Willing, a group of extended producer responsibility organisations, has led the work on expanding the WF-RepTool into the following waste streams: ‘Batteries‘, ‘Packaging‘, ‘Fishing Gear‘, ‘Textiles‘, ‘Vehicles‘, and ‘Municipal waste'.
While the original tool is focusing on e-waste, in 2024, a group of extended producer responsibility organisations, members of the WEEE Forum, (Stichting OPEN (NL), NORSIRK (NO), Elretur (DK), El-Kretsen (SE), Electrão (PT) and SENS eRecycling (CH) joined forces to lead and finance an extension of the WF-RepTool to other waste streams.
Since December 2025, organisations interested in monitoring and reporting about the management of ‘Batteries‘, ‘Packaging‘, ‘Fishing Gear‘, ‘Textiles‘, ‘Vehicles‘, and ‘Municipal waste' can request WEEE Forum access to it. The tool is addressed to extended producer responsibility organisations and producers, waste treatment operators, auditors, academia, consultants and the like.
This expanded version of the tool is in BETA mode (i.e. a pre-release, almost final version available for testing by external users to find bugs, usability issues, and gather real-world feedback before its official launch, allowing developers to refine it for a smoother general release). Weblink Software is the company that has taken care of the development of this new area of the tool and the full revamping of the tool.
How to get access to the new waste streams
Access is subject to approval by the Coalition of the Willing and the payment of a fee (check fees on the 'licenses' area of the website). Users interested in getting access to the new waste streams must follow three steps:
1. Register : The first step is to register as a user for the WEEE stream from the 'Purchase' area of the website. This step is temporary, and after the BETA period, users will be able to register for an additional waste stream without registering for WEEE.
2. Contact WEEE Forum: send an e-mail requesting access to an additional stream to info@weee-forum.org. In the request, please provide details about the type of organisation requesting access, country and additional stream (i.e. ‘Batteries‘, ‘Packaging‘, ‘Fishing Gear‘, ‘Textiles‘, ‘Vehicles‘, ‘Municipal waste'). This request will follow an approval process from the Coallition of the Willing. Access restrictions may be applied for users based in Norway, Sweden and Denmark.
3. Add a new stream from your account: once approval is granted, register for another stream from the 'Management/My organisation' area of your user account.
Next steps
This upgrade is part of an improvement plan that comprises the identification of users needs, the design of new features/fixings and regular implementation of improvements. The WF-RepTool working group is following closely the needs of the extended product responsibility sector and work on an annual basis to adapt the WF-RepTool. Contact info@weee-forum.org for more information about the tool.
Stay tuned for more updates and innovations from the WEEE Forum!
